Annie Jones describes herself as a persistent, smart person who always has a good story to share.

Annie is a freshman at the American University in Bulgaria; she plans on majoring in Business Administration. One of Annie’s biggest motives for picking this major is understanding how companies are ran and created.

Besides her motivation to understand the business world, Annie cherishes the relationships she has with her parents and friends.

Annie grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria and describes her relationship with her parents as based on trust and consideration “My parents can be very strict sometimes but at the same we have a pretty high level of understanding and trust between each other,” she explains.

Annie also greatly values the relationship she has with her younger sister, as it challenged her and taught her important life values, “She thought me how to stay focused as she loved to turn on the TV in our room exactly when I was doing my homework.”

Moreover, as a kid Annie also looked up to Sydney Fox. Fox is fictional character from the TV series “Relic Hunter,” who influenced Annie’s love of travel and adventure.

In her spare time Annie would most likely be caught spending time with her friends, mastering her photography skills or listening to music.

Annie likes to surround herself with cheerful, kind, intelligent and loyal people that lift up her spirits and inspire her to work harder and do better. She thinks her friends would best describe her as being persistent, stubborn, protective and overall fun to be around.

“The people that annoy me the most are the ones that tell you something but you don’t hear them so you ask them to repeat and they are like ‘Oh, it’s nothing’, or people who spend too much time on their phones when they are with their friends or family,” says Annie.

Even though she finds certain people’s personalities disagreeable; Annie has learned new ways in which she can converse with different people while she lived abroad.

Annie’s proudest moment thus far is winning a scholarship to study in an American High School for one year, live with a foster family and get the chance to surround herself with new people.

She describes the experience as very eye-opening because she learned a lot about herself. “The most important lesson that it taught me was to be more open minded and understanding of others,” she explains.

Although Annie is someone who likes living in the present, in her not so distant future she hopes she has a higher emotional intelligence, spends more time with her friends and family and maybe even has met her special someone. In her professional life she hopes to be well off so she can support her dream of travelling the world and have time to explore new fields and ideas.

“I want to be remembered as someone who was happy, and proud because of all my achievements and accomplished goals,” Annie concludes.
